JANUARY 2010 NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents,

			To begin with I would like to wish all of you a “Happy 2010". I hope this will be a great year for you all!
		      “HAPPY NEW YEAR”!

		   LEARNING CENTER READING PROGRAM:
            			 A little reminder that we have a reading program within our facility! For every 5 books a child has read to them or they
		       have read themselves at home will result in a prize from our treasure chest! Parents just simply fill out & return the form with
		       your child’s name & the name of the books read. Forms are located in the drawer to the right in the sign in table.

   		   DAILY FOLDER REMINDERS:

       Remember each day students will bring home a folder containing his/her school work for the day, their daily communicators,

& their point sheet. Please sign & return folders everyday so that our students are able to put their new work in them for the new

school day.

		   CHILDCARE TUITION PAYMENTS:

          This is just a reminder that as stated in my handbook payment is payable in advance and is due no later than drop off time

on the first contracted care day of each week. If this day is a holiday, payment is expected on the previous day. If you go away

on vacation, payment is due BEFORE you leave. If it is my planned day(s) off, your payment is expected BEFORE I leave. There is

a late fee of $15 for each day that payments are received late.  (Example: If payment is due on Monday & you do not pay

till Friday your late payment total is $60. This is regardless of whether you are full time or part time! It is $15 per

day payment is late no matter what your contracted days are with weekend days included.) I will strictly enforce this.

I appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

		   2009-2010 SCHOOL CURRICULUM:
            			Reminder that if your child is participating in the Kumon  Curriculum program this school year then all curriculum books need
		       to be brought as soon as possible so that we can start incorporating them into our daily routine. If you have not brought the curriculum
		       books yet please do so before A.S.A.P. so that we may start using them for the new year.

		   I have included our curriculum goals for this month, & below are a few skills we will be working on & learning! All parents are encouraged
		      to work on these skills at home! The more encouragement & practice a child has the greater their chances at success! *Note: If your
		      child arrives after 9:30 a.m. please do not expect the core curriculum theme of the month to be taught. If I have to wait for your child to begin our activities,
		      then we would be too rushed and that wouldn't be fair to me, or any of the children.

		      Toddler:

* Spelling & recognizing their name

* Identify & name basic colors & shapes

* Sort & match objects of different colors & shapes

* Practicing & learning letters “A” to “Z”

* Practicing & learning number “0-10"

Preschool:

* Practicing & learning number “0-20"
